Although written for Middle School students, high school students who have not had a good introduction to essay writing, will also benefit tremendously from this excellent course. I can't speak highly enough of this program - it is just what I was looking for as a homechool mom and almost every mom who looks it over when we travel to conventions takes it home! Yes, it has that much appeal. My favorite pat of Jump In is the concrete guidance it provides for grading your child's work. Jump In - Student Book |

We are excited to carry this thorough writing program, which can be used for grades 2 - 12. Each book is written to the student and teach concepts in a very concrete, step-by-step fashion. Each level helps students develop their writing skills. Since students are instructed to do their writing on their own notebook paper, the books are not consumed and can be reused by additional children in your family.

| Write With the Best, Vol. 1 & Vol. 2 | ||
| This wonderful program uses the writing of excellent authors to teach descriptive writing skills and encourages the reading of these great works. Volume 1 covers nine different writing genres in an easy to use format for Grades 3-12. A huge bonus is that it be used with all children in a family at one time. Both volumes are non-consumable, so you can use it with younger children when they are ready to work on their writing skills. All passages referred to for the student to read and observe are provided in the combined student/teacher text. Write With the Best teaches students how to write each genre while learning literary critique, some grammar, proofreading, and listening comprehension skills. There is little teacher prep and the day by day lessons can be completed in 15-45 minutes. Each lesson builds skill upon skill to ensure mastery. I really like that the writing assignments can be used with other subjects for reinforcement, such as science and history. Parents are assisted in evaluating their child's writing with a complete grading criteria and helpful answer key. There is also a "How-To-Write Guide", enabling parents to continue to teach effective writing even after the curriculum is completed. This program is packed with solid instruction and the inclusion of additional literary passages provide for continued use through the years as your child matures in their abilities. The information on writing techniques, and what makes a good writer will serve as a source of reference for years to come! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! |
